The holiday season is here, and what better way to celebrate than with gifts that inspire adventure, preserve our planet, and support local communities? Whether you're shopping for an avid explorer, a first-time adventurer, or anyone in between, this guide has something for everyone.

At All Ways Adventure, we’re more than a guiding company—we’re a family of adventurers passionate about exploring, protecting the natural world, and creating experiences that are inclusive for all. This guide features some of our favorite books, local shops, conservation non-profits, and adventure-ready gear to help you or your loved ones keep exploring all year long. From the desert canyons to snowy trails, these gifts celebrate the spirit of adventure, the importance of diversity in the outdoors, and the power of making a meaningful impact.

1. Gift Card: Give the Gift of Adventure

Sometimes, the best gift is the freedom to choose. With an All Ways Adventure gift card, your loved ones can plan their dream experience—whether it’s rappelling into hidden slot canyons, scaling rock walls, or exploring the untouched beauty of the Southwest. It’s more than a gift; it’s a memory waiting to happen. Pair this with a handwritten note about their adventurous spirit for an extra special touch.

2. A Walk in the Park by Kevin Fedarko

Kevin Fedarko’s account of a harrowing misadventure in the Grand Canyon is gripping, inspiring, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Beyond the story, it’s a vivid reminder of nature’s power and the importance of preparation. This National Outdoor Book Award winner is a great conversation starter and a heartfelt gift for anyone who dreams of canyon country or enjoys a well-told tale.

3. All Ways Adventure Gear

Gear up for any adventure! Our hats and sun hoodies are more than just practical—they’re symbols of journeys that take you beyond the ordinary. Lightweight, breathable, and designed for protection against the harsh desert sun, these hoodies are a favorite among our guides. With every wear, they’ll be reminded of the epic adventures you shared—or the ones they have yet to embark on.

4. Adventure Pup Gear

For the furry adventurer in your life, our upcycled gear is the perfect fit. Leashes crafted from retired canyoneering ropes are as tough as they are unique. Pair them with upcycled balls and tug toys to keep your pup entertained during your next outdoor excursion. Approved by Wren the Adventure Hound herself, these eco-friendly items aren’t just sustainable—they’re a conversation piece that celebrates the bond between humans, animals, and nature.

5. Microspikes: Winter-Ready Adventures

Don’t let icy trails hold you back! A pair of Kahtoola Microspikes turns winter hiking into a safe and exhilarating experience. These lightweight, easy-to-use spikes provide unmatched traction on snow and ice, making them a game-changer for adventurers braving colder climates. Bundle this gift with inspiration from our blog, Best Winter Hikes in Zion: Trails You Can’t Miss, and help someone create their next frosty adventure.

6. Climbing Free by Lynn Hill

Lynn Hill’s memoir is a must-read for anyone inspired by trailblazers. Lynn didn’t just climb The Nose in Yosemite—she completed the first free ascent, beating everyone to the top and rewriting what was possible in the climbing world. One of Lynn’s most famous quotes—“It goes, boys!”—is a cheeky nod to the men who doubted her and proof that determination transcends stereotypes. Her story is not just about breaking records but about breaking barriers. Pair this empowering read with a climbing gym pass or a chalk bag for an adventure-inspiring gift.

7. Shop Local

Shopping local isn’t just a feel-good gesture—it’s a way to support the heart of your community. In Kanab, we’re lucky to have gems like Lotus Boutique Kanab for unique gifts, Willow Canyon Outdoor for gear and books, Desert Healing Vitamins for wellness essentials, and Raven’s Heart Gallery for stunning artwork. Wherever you are, take a moment to explore your local shops. It’s an adventure of its own and a chance to give gifts that tell a story.

8. The Secret Knowledge of Water by Craig Childs

Craig Childs brings the desert to life in this exploration of water’s mysterious role in arid landscapes. From the hidden life in potholes to the dramatic power of flash floods, his storytelling is both poetic and scientific. This book is perfect for anyone fascinated by the Southwest, desert ecology, or simply the wonder of nature. Add a bookmark and a note encouraging them to read it under the stars.

9. Annual National Park Pass

The gift of a National Park Pass is a gift of endless exploration. With access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites, this pass allows your loved ones to discover iconic places like Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Yosemite, as well as lesser-known gems. It’s perfect for road trippers, weekend warriors, and anyone who values the great outdoors. Include a map or a list of your favorite parks to inspire their next adventure.

10. Donate to Conservation Nonprofits

Giving back is the ultimate holiday gift. Organizations like the National Park Foundation, Leave No Trace, Bears Ears Partnership, and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance are doing incredible work to protect our landscapes and educate future generations. Whether it’s funding public lands advocacy or community outreach, your donation to your favorite non-profit makes an impact.

This season, let’s celebrate the gift of nature, community, and exploration. Share this guide with friends and family, and make this holiday one for the books—literally, if you’re giving one of these fantastic reads!

As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month , we reflect on the long-standing connection between Indigenous communities and the lands we love to explore. These peoples, with their rich history, culture, and relationship to the land, have shaped the Southwest for thousands of years. All year long, it’s vital for visitors to deepen their understanding of these sacred places, not only as scenic destinations but also as living history and cultural treasures. The Southwest is home to some of the most remarkable archaeological sites, ancient pictographs and petroglyphs, and sacred cultural landscapes that are integral to the identity of Indigenous peoples. As adventurers, hikers, and explorers, it is our responsibility to honor and respect these spaces—this is especially true during Native American Heritage Month when we have the opportunity to reflect on their history, contributions, and ongoing stewardship of the land. Below, we will explore how we can engage with the Southwest responsibly, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and the twenty Visit with Respect tips to help visitors protect these fragile landscapes. But beyond just practical tips, this guide will offer insight into why these actions are important and how we can each make a difference in ensuring these sites are preserved.
