Southern Utah isn’t just a destination—it’s a launching pad for adventure. And at the heart of it all? Kanab. Nicknamed Base Camp Kanab, this charming town serves as the perfect hub for exploring some of the Southwest’s most iconic landscapes. Set off on a multi-day expedition, explore hidden slot canyons, or take in dramatic desert vistas on a scenic drive—whatever your pace, it all begins here.

Why Kanab? Stay Here, Go Anywhere

Tucked between Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell, Kanab sits at the center of some of the most iconic landscapes in the Southwest. But it’s more than just a convenient base—it’s an adventure destination in its own right. With its small-town charm, easy access to remote wilderness, and deep history rooted in the landscapes around it, Kanab offers a perfect balance between exploration and relaxation.

Unlike busier park gateway towns, Kanab provides a quieter, less crowded home base while keeping you within easy reach of world-class adventures. You can wake up with a coffee in town, set off for a hike through a hidden slot canyon, a guided canyoneering adventure, or a full-day trek in Zion, and still be back in time for dinner. The region is filled with red rock formations, sweeping desert vistas, ancient petroglyphs, and geological wonders that stretch far beyond the national park borders. For those looking to go beyond the main viewpoints, Kanab is the perfect place to launch deeper into the wild.

Here, you can pack your itinerary with big objectives—hiking, canyoneering, or even paddling through the remote corners of Glen Canyon—or simply slow down and soak in the scenery. The best part? Kanab doesn’t force a decision. Stay on the move, take it easy, or mix it up—it’s an adventure either way.

Zion National Park – 30 Minutes from Kanab

Towering cliffs, deep canyons, and some of the most famous trails in the world—Zion National Park  is an adventure hub like no other. From the dizzying heights of Angels Landing to the cool, winding waters of The Narrows, Zion offers something for every kind of adventurer.

We offer guided hiking experiences in Zion’s non-technical, front-country areas. Our expert guides provide insight into the park’s unique geology, flora, and fauna while ensuring a safe and rewarding adventure. Whether you're a seasoned hiker looking for a deeper connection to the landscape or a beginner who wants extra support, we help you get the most out of your Zion experience. Note: Due to Zion National Park regulations, guiding is limited to front-country trails.

Grand Canyon North Rim – 90 Minutes from Kanab

The less-traveled but equally awe-inspiring North Rim of the Grand Canyon feels like a world away from the crowds of the South Rim. With sweeping canyon views, remote trails, and a quieter atmosphere, it’s an opportunity to experience the grandeur of the canyon without the rush. The vastness of the Grand Canyon can be overwhelming, especially for first-time visitors, but exploring with a guide transforms it from a simple sightseeing stop into a deeper, more immersive adventure.

At All Ways Adventure, we take care of the logistics so you can focus on the experience. Our local guides bring the canyon to life with stories of its geological history, Indigenous cultures, and diverse ecosystems, giving you a deeper understanding of this ancient landscape. Looking for a hiking tour? Hoping to explore the canyon’s past through an interpretive journey? Want a fully customized adventure? We design each itinerary to fit your goals. With a focus on safety, deep-rooted knowledge, and high-quality equipment, we make sure the Grand Canyon is more than just a view—it’s an experience.

Glen Canyon / Lake Powell – 60 Minutes from Kanab

Deep slot canyons, sweeping sandstone cliffs, and crystal-clear waters make Glen Canyon and Lake Powell a paradise for adventure. Hike through narrow rock corridors, paddle across the lake’s vast waters, or simply take in the breathtaking scenery—there’s no wrong way to explore. The scale of Glen Canyon can be overwhelming, but with a guide, you gain access to hidden corners and a deeper understanding of the landscape.

At All Ways Adventure, we make this vast wilderness accessible and unforgettable. Our guides don’t just lead trips—they bring the landscape to life, offering a richer experience than simply wandering alone. From exploring off-the-beaten-path slot canyons to hiking through remote areas filled with ancient petroglyphs and hidden rock formations, we help you uncover the stories carved into the sandstone over millennia. With interpretive experiences that dive into the history, geology, and natural wonders of the area, you’ll walk away with a greater appreciation for this stunning region.

Bryce Canyon National Park – 90 Minutes from Kanab

Hoodoos, amphitheaters, and endless views—Bryce Canyon  is a must-see. Its surreal landscape of piercing rock spires and dramatic colors makes it one of the most unique national parks in the Southwest. While All Ways Adventure does not offer guided tours inside Bryce, the less-traveled landscapes just outside of Bryce Canyon hold equally stunning natural wonders waiting to be explored.

Skip the crowds and venture beyond Bryce to explore slot canyons, vast desert plateaus, and remote landscapes where solitude enhances the beauty of the terrain. Our guided adventures take you into the winding sandstone mazes of East Zion, the panoramic overlooks of Grand Staircase-Escalante, or adrenaline-filled excursions like canyoneering and off-roading.

Base Camp Kanab

Kanab is your base camp for adventure, but with All Ways Adventure, you won’t just visit—you’ll experience. Our expert guides bring deep knowledge of the region, leading custom trips designed around your interests. Whether you’re chasing slot canyons, towering cliffs, or remote backcountry, we take you beyond the ordinary with a focus on safety, storytelling, and true adventure. Ready to go beyond? Let’s make it happen.

As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month , we reflect on the long-standing connection between Indigenous communities and the lands we love to explore. These peoples, with their rich history, culture, and relationship to the land, have shaped the Southwest for thousands of years. All year long, it’s vital for visitors to deepen their understanding of these sacred places, not only as scenic destinations but also as living history and cultural treasures. The Southwest is home to some of the most remarkable archaeological sites, ancient pictographs and petroglyphs, and sacred cultural landscapes that are integral to the identity of Indigenous peoples. As adventurers, hikers, and explorers, it is our responsibility to honor and respect these spaces—this is especially true during Native American Heritage Month when we have the opportunity to reflect on their history, contributions, and ongoing stewardship of the land. Below, we will explore how we can engage with the Southwest responsibly, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and the twenty Visit with Respect tips to help visitors protect these fragile landscapes. But beyond just practical tips, this guide will offer insight into why these actions are important and how we can each make a difference in ensuring these sites are preserved.
